About us
ProSeal Plus has been the premier fabric finishing firm for more than 40 years, serving top decorators, resorts, hotels and purchasing associations. Recommended by the Allied Board of Trades, we process all categories of fabrics, including silks, moires, and velvets, as well as trims, rugs and wallpaper.
ProSeal offers stain repellents, flame retardants, knit-backing and wallpaper finishes. We provide the finest care and expertise for every project, large or small, with personalized customer service.
Our Story
ProSeal was founded by Bill and Milissa Byrd in 1979. Both Bill and Milissa had successful careers working with textiles prior to ProSeal. Bill owned an exemplary drapery business in Manhattan.
Some of his clients included Lucille Ball and Dinah Shore. Milissa was a fashion designer on 7th Avenue for top fashion houses including Junior Sophisticates, Schrader Sport, Jerry Silverman by Milissa and Mr. B.
The couple shared a love of fine fabrics and they knew the importance of protecting and caring for them to extend their life and enjoyment. Bill and Milissa passed along both their expertise in fabric finishing and dedication to excellent customer service to their children, grandchildren and staff.

Today ProSeal Plus is proud to be a second-generation, woman-owned business, headed by Bill and Milissa’s daughter, Katrina Blauvelt. Katrina grew up working at ProSeal during summers and school breaks. She went on to have a successful career in corporate communications working for Fortune 100 Companies, before returning to her roots at ProSeal Plus. Katrina is committed to carrying on Bill and Milissa’s legacy of excellent customer service and love of textiles
